Work is underway – the Health Post has been re-decorated, furnished and equipped with effective drugs storage units etc. Clean drinking water projects have been completed across the village. Now we are about to tackle the need to provide toilet facilities for 200 homes.
Tilden Volunteer Housing
Lack of a suitable site for the Tilden House means we are now financing extensions to existing houses to accommodate volunteers, and extending one central home to provide a facility for IT/communication, the sewing project and a communal leisure space for visitors to Aruchour.
English Conversation in Schools Scheme
This is at the planning stage both in the UK and in Aruchour, but we hope to send out our first volunteers on a trial basis during the winter months of 2013/14 – let us know if you would like to be one of them!
These are now all sold and we have reached our target, the total money raised was over £3,000 – many thanks to all who contributed so generously.
Our new Trustee, Alan Cesarano, spent 4 weeks in Aruchour in 2011 and has put together some remarkable film footage of life in Aruchour. If you would like to organise a local talk about the work of TPN, we would be glad to come along, show pictures and give a short presentation. This is a good way of raising the profile of TPN and recruiting more much- needed regular donors and/or supporters.
Top Of The World CD
We launched our very first CD in November! Compiled and designed by Trustee Timothy Burnett, it contains tracks generously donated by 11 bands living and working in the South East of England. The music is excellent and the twelfth track is Tilden’s own production ‘Top of the World’.
The CD’s cost £5 each; if you would like one, please send £5 plus £1.50 p&p to Tilden Project Nepal and we will mail it by return.
